Imphal, June 26 2026: The Manipur Apex Handloom Weavers and Handicrafts Artisans CS Ltd (AWAS), Paona Bazar, inaugurated the District Handlooms Expo 'TANA-BANA 2026' today at Urban Haat,Nilakuthi.

AWAS Chairman Y Premchandra, National Awardee K Medha Devi, Joybala Yumnam, and Thokchom Sundari, Project Manager, District Handlooms and Textiles, Imphal East, attended as dias members.

Fifty stalls are participating in the expo.

AWAS Board of Director Ph Indira Devi said the expo was organised with ministry support to provide a marketing platform for weavers of handloom clusters and others.

She noted that similar melas were held earlier and more are planned, adding that such events by Manipur Apex Handloom aim to support artisans and boost their income.
