Thoubal, April 26 2026:
A candlelight vigil was held today at Thoubal Nongangkhong to express grief and solidarity with the victims of the recent violence in Manipur, including the killing of two children in a bomb attack at Tronglaobi and three civilians who died during alleged firing by CRPF personnel while protesting the incident.
The vigil was organised by the Nongangkhong Youth Club, Thoubal.
Participants lit candles, and offered floral tributes to the portraits of the five deceased victims.
They also expressed deep condolences to the bereaved families and strongly condemned those responsible for the acts.
Speaking during the vigil, a member of the Nongangthong Youth club and a Meira Paibi representative demanded swift and time-bound justice from the Government of Manipur, stressing that such heinous acts must not go unpunished.
They further stated that the programme was organised to pray for the eternal peace of the departed souls and to restore peace and normalcy in the state, which continues to grapple with grief, pain, and suffering.
