8 police officers, personnel named for PSM, MSM medals

Imphal, January 25 2025: Deputy superintendent of police Sorokhaibam Rudranarayan Singh and seven other officers and personnel of Manipur police made into the list of medal awardees announced by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in connection with this year's Republic Day celebration, on Saturday.

MHA announced the list to recognise distinguished and meritorious contributions of officers and personnel of security forces under its operation every year prior to Republic Day celebration.

In this year's list, deputy SP Sorokhaibam Rudranarayan Singh was featured among President's Medal for Distinguish Service (PSM) recipients.

Seven other officers and personnel of Manipur police were also among the recipients of Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM) for this year.

They are inspector Laishram Chaoba, sub-inspector Naorem Seilendra Singh, sub-inspector Sorokhaibam Santosh Singh, armed police sub-inspector Khaidem Chandra Singh, Havildar Lenpu Kom, rifleman Lamthianson Chongloi and assistant sub-inspector Athokpam Tej Singh.

On the other hand, officers and personnel of Manipur police, who would be receiving medals during state celebration of Republic Day on Sunday have been announced.

Inspector Gurumayum Geetanjali of Imphal West district police (women), Havildar Sachin Rai of 1st Manipur Rifles and Havildar Khanglanmei Kamei of 2nd MR will be presented Police Medal for Meritorious Service Republic Day, 2023 .

Police Medal for Meritorious Service Independence Day, 2023 will be presented to Havildar Sapam Sanathoi Singh of 2nd IRB, Havildar Kongbrailatpam Devdutta Shanna of 7th MR, Havildar L Shanta Singh of 1st MR, Thoubal district police's Subedar (MPTC) and currently holding the post of DSP L Shanta Singh, inspector (CID) of Churachandpur district police and currently holding the post of OC of Singhat PS Khoute Thangzalal Vaiphei, 1st IRB assistant commandant and currently holding the post of deputy CO L Seimang Haokip, Md Fayajur Rahman of 6th IRB, Jemandar Sanasam Tejen Singh of 1st IRB and Jemandar Sijagurumayum Budhachandra Sharma of 1st IRB .
