Training programme on "Mushroom Cultivation" begins

Imphal, July 23 2025: A 2-day training programme on "Mushroom Cultivation and Vermicompsition" began today at AASHA Club, Khundrakpam Makha Leikai.

The training programme was organised by Awang Chingkhei Laipham Pana Yawol Lamjing Lup, Khundrakpam in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Imphal East and DEE, Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal.

Speaking at the inaugural function, Hawaijam Somendro, advisor of the Lup, said that the training programme was conducted to empower the youths with practical skills for income generation, self-reliance and improved quality of life.

"Mushroom cultivation is a viable and promising incomegenerating activity for young people.

It requires relatively low startup costs and minimal land, making it accessible to many, and can provide a good source of income through the sale of fresh mushrooms or value-added products", he added.

About 40 trainees are participating in the training programme.
