Imphal, June 22 2025: Reacting to a news article published by this paper yesterday regarding CoTU calling off shutdown called Over Langchingmanbi killing, the Indian Army has refuted saying it is "neither responsible for the events nor has it made any agreement with anyone" .

"The content published regarding the Indian Army is entirely totally false and suspected to be fabricated.

Indian Army is neither responsible for the events nor has it made any agreement with anyone," said the Army in a statement.

The publication of such false information appears to be a deliberate attempt to malign the image of our Armed Forces and incite avoidable unrest among the local communities.

Media houses are requested to act responsibly and verify facts with the Official Spokesperson and PRO, Ministry of Defence before publishing articles.

Publishing a piece of uncorroborated information leads to unnecessary confusion in the State, facing the burnt for over 2 years, said the statement of the PIB (Defence Wing) .
