Court cancels RIMS job appointment notification

Imphal, January 21 2009: Two separate rulings of the Gauhawati High Court, Imphal Bench have canceled notifications of the RIMS authority with regard to the appointment of three assistant professors in the institute in February 2007 .

The orders of cancellation of the advertisement notifications were issued by Justice BD Agarwal of the high court Imphal bench today and on January 19 last on the ground that holding of DPC of the vacant posts after nearly a year from the date of notifications are legally not valid and the process itself appears to be in the interest of some vested interest.

The notifications for the appointment of three assistant professors, two for surgery department and one for medical department of RIMS were issued on February 26, 2007 while quashing the case filed by Dr Sapam Upendro, senior registrar general surgery department of the RIMS and two other doctors of the same institute.

The court also directed the authority to issued fresh notification.

The case which filed to the court advocate M Devand as counsel of the petitioners also said that when the advertisement of for the appointment were issued, the petitioners were qualified for applying for the post.
