Imphal, June 17 2026: Flying Officer Romen Chabungbam of the Indian Air Force was felicitated today by Chabungbam Sagei Apunba Lup at Sagolband Moirang Leirak, Imphal.

Romen, son of Chabungbam Nodi Singh and Chabungbam Ongbi Lata, was commissioned into the Fighter Stream after successfully completing the 217th course.

An alumnus of Sainik School Imphal, he trained with the 148th course of the National Defence Academy before joining the IAF.

He received his commission and training certificate at the Combined Graduation Parade held on June 13 at the Tejas Parade Ground, Air Force Academy, Hyderabad.

The felicitation was attended by Lup president Chabungbam Nandakishwar, retired Director of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry; Chabungbam Lilabanta, retired Manager.

SBI; and elder Chabungbam Ibotombi, among others.

Speaking on the occasion, Nandakishwar said Romen's achievement is a proud moment for both the family and Manipur, urging students to pursue studies with dedication.

Flying Officer Romen added that discipline, perseverance, and time management are key to success.
