INDIA bloc seeks meeting on Jiri

Imphal, June 17 2024:
INDIA bloc representatives of the state submitted letters to the Governor and the chief minister seeking appointment for a meeting to discuss the situation in the state, especially in the light of emerging communal tension in Jiribam district.
The letters were sent following a resolution adopted in a joint meeting of the INDIA bloc state partners held at Congress Bhawan here on Monday afternoon.
The joint meeting also resolved to press the government for deploying additional state forces in Jiribam to restore peace and normalcy in the district.
Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president K Meghachandra presided over the joint meeting.
CLP leader O Ibobi, AICC CWC member Gaikhangam, deputy CLP leader K Ranjit, MP elect Prof Angomcha Bimol Akoijam, CPI senior members Dr M Nara, L Sotinkumar & L Thoiren, CPI-M state secretary Kshetrimayum Shanta & member S Sarat, T Debananda of Shiv Sena (UBT), Th Jugindro of AAP, Dr Kh Loken & 0 Nabakishore of JDU, K Manoranjan of RSP, Kh Gyaneshwar of AIFB, S Iboyaima of NCP, L Inaocha of AITC, and others attended the meeting.
