LMG extends monetary, material aid to victim's family

The Like Minded Group (LMG), Manipur has extended material and monetary aid to the family of Sapam Ongbi Sofia Devi who was brutally killed by suspected Kuki militants on November 9 .
The deceased, who was the wife of S Dayananda and hailed from Watha Lambi Awang Leikai, came under gunfire while she was working at Watha Lambi Loukul.
She leaves behind three young children.
The LMG team handed over stationery items including notebooks and pens as well as essential commodities on top of providing monetary assistance to the family.
A two-minute silence was also observed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
The Like Minded Group (LMG), Manipur team included secretary Ojit Sorokhaibam, assistant secretary Surendra Ningomba, executive member Birla Salam; Dr Inaoba Nongmaithem; Surjit Ngangomcha, Sobita Maibam, Joyshree Khundrakpam and Devikarani Phurailatpam.
Speaking in this connection, Ojit Sorokhaibam lamented that the number of children who have lost their parents to the violence in the State is increasing day by day.
The plight of the victims' families has incited emotions of both heartbreak and anger among the public, he pointed out.
Thus he urged the State and Central Government to resolve the conflict and called upon the people of Manipur to extend help and support to the victims of the ongoing crisis.
