Pambei-led UNLF celebrates

The Pambei-led United National Liberation Front (UNLF) celebrated 78th Manipur Independence Day on Wednesday together with the people at party's central headquarters (CHQ) as well as at GHQs, brigades and battalions of its armed wing - Manipur People's Army (MPA) .
According to a UNLF statement issued by media coordinator Charai-rongba Thokchom, the 78th Manipur Independence Day celebration function at GHQ was attended by Taragi Cheisu president Khaidem Mani as chief guest and Pambei-led UNLF's acting chairman Moirangthem Nongyai as functional president.
UNLF's department of human resource development secretary Sapam Tamphajao, GHQ chief of army staff Khwairakpam Khomba, UMO president Moirangthem Sorojini and Meitei Pangal Council Manipur president Haji Arafat also attended the event as guests of honour.
Front's cadres, members, local members, MPA senior officers, officers, NCOs, privates and several prominent members of the society including CSO leaders also attended the event.
MPA vice chief of army staff, general staff officers, commanding officers, senior officers, officers, NCOs, privates and others attended the celebrations held at GHQ, brigades and battalions of MPA, the statement said.
Two minutes' silence in memory and honour of great heroes who laid down their lives in defence of Manipur's sovereignty, key note addresses and speeches by dignitaries marked the 78th Manipur Independence Day celebration at all the venues.
