Tree plantation drive held at Tarong

Kamjong, July 14 2026: As part of efforts to promote environmental conservation and ecological preservation, environmental activist Jojo Robertson led a tree plantation drive at Tarong village under Kasom Khullen subdivision in Kamjong district.

During the programme, around 300 saplings were planted with the participation of villagers, who also pledged to protect and preserve the environment.

The plantation drive followed the successful completion of a Comprehensive Environment Awareness Programme launched by Jojo Robertson on April 14, 2026, to spread awareness on environmental protection and sustainable practices among the public.

Tarong village headman N Paul Tarong, Tarong Baptist Church pastor Varam Sochipem and a large number of villagers took part in the plantation programme.
