MU students protest civilian killings

Imphal, May 13 2026: Manipur University students held a sit-in protest in front of the MU gate on Wednesday, demanding that the Government of India immediately stop killings of civilians and burning of houses by SoO and non-SoO militants.

Students carried placards reading 'We will defend our land', 'Stop India from creating SoO terrorists in Manipur', 'Stop proxy war and killing of civilians', 'We will shape our future', and 'Stop State terrorism' .

Speaking at the protest, students said the Government must stop Kuki militants from killing civilians at will .

They also demanded that those involved in the Tronglaobi incident be arrested and punished.
