Heirok Apunba Club imposes ban on festive and entertainment activities

Thoubal, January 13 2026: In view of the upcoming HSLC and Class XII examinations, the Heirok Apunba Club (HAC), an apex body of 26 clubs of Heirok along with Heirok Apunba Meira Paibi has imposed a complete ban on all forms of festivities and entertainment activities in and around the Heirok area.

According to a statement issued by the HAC, the ban covers activities such as concerts, shumang leela, melas, housie, cinema-drama screenings and picnic-related events.

The restriction will remain in force from January 14 till March 31, 2026 .

HAC cautioned that anyone found defying the ban by organising programmes or functions, using loudspeakers within the Heirok area, would have to bear the consequences arising from such actions at their own risk.

The club further informed that the ban would also apply to people visiting the Heirok River and Melei Tampak for picnic purposes during the specified period.

Appealing for cooperation, HAC urged the people of the State to extend their support to the Heirok Apunba Club and Heirok Meira Paibi for the steps taken in the larger interest of students and for the overall betterment of student society in the State.
