Governor reviews state's law and order

Imphal, August 12 2024:
Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya on Monday reviewed the law and order situation in the state.
Convening a security meeting along with special chief secretary MH Khan, security advisor, DGP, GOC 57 Mountain Division, IGAR (S), representatives of IB and officers of other paramilitary forces at Raj Bhavan on Monday evening, Acharya reviewed the overall security arrangement taken up to control any situation at any point in time in the state.
The security advisor and DGP briefed the Governor about the security arrangement made in the state after the spate of ethnic violence.
Discussions for smooth passage of goods laden vehicles along the National Highways were also discussed in the meeting with the Governor directing the DGP for taking up steps to allow free flow passage along the National Highways.
He also sought an update about progress of on-going construction works along NH-2 and NH-37 from the special chief secretary along with asking officers of central security forces to extend maximum to the administration and security apparatus to maintain law and order in the state.
