Governor meets displaced students on educational tour

Governor Anusuiya Uikey interacted with internally displaced students who took part in an educational tour to Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (USER), Kolkata, during the flagging-in ceremony held at Bal Vidya Mandir, Palace Compound in Imphal East on Sunday.
Altogether 15 boys and 5 girl students from Bal Vidya Mandir across the state participated in the tour which was organised by 32 Assam Rifles.
The students, who took part in the 5-day hands on science workshop at IISER, were exposed to the world of scientific quest and innovation.
Addressing the students, the Governor said that such a tour is an important step in the ongoing efforts to support and uplift the talented youths of the state, especially those facing the challenges of internal displacement.
Expressing that the students, along with their teachers, represented the spirit of hope and determination, she said the workshop was not just a training tour but a gateway to future possibilities, where the students can imagine themselves as tomorrow's scientists, researchers and innovators.
Further stating that the visit to the institute is the first step towards achieving the dreams, she encouraged the young students to learn with enthusiasm and let the experience gained ignite the passion for science.
The knowledge and the experience gained will be the foundation on which students will build their bright future, the Governor maintained while welcoming the initiative of Assam Rifles and IISER to help train the talented young students of the state.
"We are grateful to the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Kolkata for their generous support in providing accommodation and food and to 32 Battalion Assam Rifles for the purpose of this visit.
This collaborative effort demonstrates the power of unity and shared commitment to nurture the future of our nation," a Raj Bhavan release quoted the Governor as saying.
It also informed of the Governor congratulating the teachers whose efforts enabled the youth to go to Kolkata and receive training and commended Bal Vidya Mandir, Manipur for invaluable contribution in the held of education amid the current situation.
Anusuiya also congratulated 22 Sector Assam Rifles DIG Brig Vikram Saini and 32 Assam Rifles CO Colonel Ghanendra Pratap Singh.
