32nd Guru Kirtana Seva kicks off

Imphal, October 06 2025: The "32nd Guru Kirtan Seva (Festival of Nata Sankirtana Mahayagya)" organised by Gulapi Nata Sankirtana Academy began today its premises in Kwakeithel Nganapi Thong Mapal, Imphal.

The inaugural function was graced by BB Sharma, former Editor, AIR Imphal; renowned columnist Saratchand Thiyam and cultural activist L Brajamohon Singh as presidium members.

The two-day festival began with the offering of floral tributes to the deceased Gurus of Gulapi Nata Sankirtana Academy.

Speaking on the occasion, Organising Committee advisor Khomdram Surendra Singh said that Nata Sankirtana, which has been recognised as one of the intangible cultural heritages by the UNESCO, is among the dying art forms of the State.

He also called upon young students of Nata Sankirtana to disseminate the values and ideas of Nata Sankirtana by following the footsteps of their Gurus.
