Gift of Life Run marks 16th Indian Organ Donation Day

Imphal, August 06 2026: To commemorate the 16th Indian Organ Donation Day, MOHAN Foundation, in collaboration with Forged Run Club, organised the Gift of Life Run-10K, Imphal on August 3 to raise public awareness about the importance of organ donation and encourage citizens to pledge their organs.

The event was flagged off by Victoria Yengkhom, IPS, Manipur Police, at Tiddim Ground, Imphal.

The 10-kilometre awareness run covered the route from Tiddim Ground to Malom Oil Depot before returning to the starting point.

The event witnessed an overwhelming response, with nearly 900 runners participating in the awareness run and more than 1,200 attendees joining the programme.

Participants included healthcare professionals, students, transplant recipients, donor families, fitness enthusiasts, representatives from various organisations, and members of the general public, all united in support of the life-saving cause of organ donation.

The programme aimed to increase public understanding of deceased organ donation, dispel common myths and misconceptions, and encourage individuals to register as organ donors while discussing their decision with family members.
