Imphal, October 05 2026: A 'special traffic drive' was conducted today along the western side of Nagamapal Road, from Maharani Thongkha to RIMS Crossing.

The drive was conducted by the Traffic Police under the supervision of C Cecelia Sopemla, SP/Traffic Control Police Wing with the assistance of the City police station to clear unauthorised parking, street vendors and roadside obstructions.

In a statement, the Traffic Police said the route Maharani Thongkha to RIMS Crossing is important for officegoers, commercial establishments, residents and for access to RIMS and other hospitals, and therefore must remain clear, particularly for ambulances and emergency vehicles.

The Traffic Police appealed to people to park their vehicles only at designated parking spaces, and not occupy any "No Parking Zone".

It also appealed to street vendors to avoid putting up stalls along the road or obstruct traffic.
