CNPO condemns assault on villagers by Myanmar-based armed group

Chandel, September 04 2025: The Chandel Naga People's Organisation (CNPO) has strongly condemned the barbaric physical assault on Th Merangshing Charanga, son of Th Angrung Charanga of Choktong village, allegedly carried out by the Pro-Democracy Revolutionary Army of Myanmar between September 1 and 3, 2025 .

In a statement issued today, the CNPO described the incident as an "inhumane act of kidnapping and third-degree torture" against an innocent villager, warning that such acts pose a serious threat to the safety and peaceful living of the community.

Calling for immediate action, the CNPO urged the concerned higher authorities to ensure early justice for the victim and his family.
