Blood donation camps held

Imphal, March 04 2025: Thoungambi Women Multipurpose Co-operative Society Limited and JNIMS Blood Bank jointly organised a voluntary blood donation camp under the aegis of Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission.

Altogether 15 donors donated their precious blood at the camp conducted at JNIMS Blood Bank today.

Speaking in this connection, Konjengbam Lakshmi, general secretary, Thoungambi Women Multipurpose Co-operative Society Limited, said that the voluntary blood donation camp was held ahead of the International Women's Day celebration which falls on March 8 .

Women from self-help groups in six Gram Panchayats under Heingang AC participated in the camp, she added.

Separately, Life Savers Manipur in collaboration with State Blood Cell SHS, NHM-Manipur and Department of Transfusion Medicine RIMS, Imphal organised a blood donation camp at RIMS Blood Bank today dedicated to cancer survivors/patients.

The camp was held to commemorate the 16th marriage anniversary of film maker and social and cultural activist Rakesh Naorem and Irengbam Ningol Naorem Ongbi Romila.

Twenty-five people donated blood at today's voluntary blood donation camp.
