AR, We Care sign MoU to empower youth

With an aim to empower the youth of Manipur through acquainting them on vocational courses/skill and enhance employment opportunities, IGAR (S) and 'We Care' Skill Solutions entered into a historic memorandum of understanding (MoU), on Monday.
The MoU was signed by 9 Sector AR commander Brigadier Ananya Boral representing the Assam Rifles and 'We Care' Skill Solutions managing director Wangkheirakpam Shreeman in the presence of IGAR (S) Major General Ravroop Singh at the headquarters of IGAR (S), Mantripukhri.
Assam Rifles as 'Sentinels of the North East' has been actively involved in undertaking several philanthropic activities aimed at alleviating grievances in remote areas and empowering youth with employment opportunities and livelihood: 'We Care' Skill Solutions is an Imphal-based organisation imparting vocational training to youth since 2017 .
In the past six years, the organisation has trained over 3000 locals of which approximately 1000 youths have been employed.
As part of the understanding, Assam Rifles will provide infrastructure for conduct of vocational training and assist in identification and selection of potential candidates while 'We Care' will be responsible for providing the faculty for conduct of the vocational training.
Each training programme will be for 12 weeks in which selected boys and girls will be imparted training primarily on Hospitality services, Retail management/Sales, Beauty/Wellness & Electrician/Mechanical/Plumbing Skill sets.
At the end of these skill development programmes, the successful candidates will be provided certificates accredited to National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and steps would be made towards employment by connecting with major organisations in these sectors nationwide.
As part of its first programme, skill development training will be jointly imparted by Assam Rifles and 'We Care' Skill Solutions to 90 youths on Hospitality and Retail/Sales at Sanjeevani near Hotel Imphal from June 10.The registration for the programme has been completed and shortlisted candidates will be intimated after screening to join the skill development programme.
The collaborative effort will not only empower the youth but also open avenues for their employment.
