Imphal, September 29 2026: A seven day National Level Training Programme on "Basics and Advanced Techniques of Molecular Biology" organised by DBT-BUILDER, Manipur University with funding from the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, concluded at the University's central facilities yesterday.

The programme was held from September 22 to 28 and brought together around 15 participants, including physicians from JNIMS, faculty members, research scholars and project fellows from Dibrugarh University, Assam, colleges in Manipur and various departments of Manipur University.

The inaugural session was attended by Prof N Mohilal Meitei, Dean, School of Life Sciences as chief guest, Prof Kananbala Sarangthem, Head, Department of Botany as guest of honour and Prof Ksh Birla Singh, Co-PI, DBT-BUILDER as chairman.

During the training, Dr Santa Naorem, Project Scientist and Shimrata Laimayum, Technical Assistant, DBT-BUILDER provided hands-on training on key techniques including Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), gel electrophoresis, SDS-PAGE and restriction enzyme digestion.

The valedictory session was attended by Prof L Shanjukumar Singh, Dean, School of Agricultural Sciences and Prof Ksh Birla Singh as presidium members.

Certificates were distributed to all the participants.
