Imphal, June 29 2026:
Bashikhong Panthoibi Youth Club and Bashikhong Leimarol Samaj Leishemlup, Panthoibi Bazar Leikai, have appealed to the Thongju AC MLA and concerned departments to blacktop a portion of the Bashikhong CHC road left unfinished, citingpublic hardship.
Speaking to the media at Bashikhong today, Club vice president Soibam Ibomcha said a stretch of the road leading to Bashikhong CHC was excluded during recent blacktopping work on grounds that it falls under the proposed Ring Road.
Even the old blacktop was removed, leaving the surface unusable, he added.

Ibomcha noted that the Ring Road project has seen no progress for years, and leaving the road unblacktopped in advance was "unjustified".
The stretch is crucial for students commuting to schools and for patients visiting the CHC, he said.
The organisations urged the MLA and authorities to repair the affected portion immediately.
If the road is not repaired soon, locals and meira paibis will jointly launch agitations, Ibomcha warned.
