Governor visits JNMDA; meets MLA, others

Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya on Wednesday visited Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy (JNMDA) here and interacted with officials, gurus, artistes and students of the Academy.
In a release, PRO Raj Bha van informed that the Governor witnessed a cultural show performed by the students of the Academy.
On the other-hand, various individuals and representatives of organisations called on the Governor at Raj Bhavan on Wednesday.
Apart from Kakching MLA M Rameshwar Singh, who called on the Governor on Wednesday evening, principal chief conservator of forests (PCCF) & head of forest force, Manipur Anurag Bajpai met the Governor and informed him about the present status of forest areas in the state.
He shared to the Governor about various ongoing initiatives of the department for the conservation of forest.
In response, the Governor appreciated efforts of the forest department officer and advised the latter to continue the said initiatives in the best interest of the conservation of forest and natural environment.
The release also informed that officials of Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Manipur, called on the Governor and apprised him about the various humanitarian assistance extended to the people in the state as the Governor directed the officials for submitting a detailed report about their works and issues faced by them.
RIMS, Imphal director Dr G Sunil Kumar Sharma also called on the Governor and invited him to attend the 53rd foundation day celebration of the Institute which is scheduled to be held on September 14.Representatives of All Manipur Telli Association led by its general secretary Ashok Prasad Sahu also visited the Raj Bhavan to meet the Governor.
