Imphal, May 28 2026: Several civil society organisations and Ima Lups have expressed deep sorrow over the sudden demise of Film Forum Manipur chairman Khangembam Kuleswar on May 20, 2026, following an illness.

Kh Kuleswar served as president of All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) in 1977-78 and played a key role in student welfare and various people's movements.

Remembered as a patriot who led from the front in State affairs, his death is termed a major loss for Manipur.

The organisations prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed solidarity to the bereaved family in this hour of grief.

The condolence note was jointly issued by 13 organisations - Apunba Manipur Kanba Ima Lup (AMKIL), All Manipur Women's Social Reformation & Development Samaj (Nupi Samaj), All Manipur Tammi Chingmi Apunba Nupi Lup (Tammi Chingmi), Nongpok Leingak Apunba Nupi Lup (NLANL), Nongchup Imphal Palem Ima Apunba Nupi Lup (NIMPAL), Apunba Nupi Lup (ANUL) Bishnupur, Thoubal District United Women's Development Organisation (Thoubal Ima), Ereipak Enaat Chanura Loinsinlon (EECHAL), United Peoples' Front (UPF) Manipur, National Identity Protection Council (NIPCO), Manipur Peace & Integrity Council (MAPI Council), Coalition Against Drugs & Alcohol (CADA), and All Manipur Progressive Farmers' Association (AMPFA) .
