"Mama's Gift" distributed to children

Imphal, April 27 2026: Under the sponsorship of the Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission, a distribution programme for a nutrition powder titled "Mama's Gift" was held today at Pheijaleitong.

The initiative was jointly organised by three Village Level Federations under the Thongju Part-II Gram Panchayat: Ebudhou Koiroulakpa VLF, Ebudhou Thongjulakpa VLF, and Yumjao Lairembi VLF .

The event focused on providing nutritional supplements to the children of Self-Help Group members.

The programme was supported by the Thongju Apunba Women's Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited.

Key dignitaries in attendance included Chirom Jashowanta, Member, Bashikhong Zilla Parishad; Nameirakpam Kanon, Pradhan, Thongju Part-II GP; Naoshram Basanta, District Mission Manager, MSRLM Imphal East; PR Rinshang: District Coordinator (SISD); A Sujata, Block In-charge; and Sagolsem Omi, Block staff (Cluster Coordinator).

Nongmeikapam Ongbi Bimola, president of Thongju Women's Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited, stated that the primary goal of the initiative is to provide essential nutrition to children who may lack a balanced diet, ensuring they grow up healthy and strong.

During the ceremony, "Mama's Gift" supplements were handed over to children of 44 SHG members.

Local PRI members, ASHA workers, and Anganwadi workers also participated in the distribution.
