KVK organises training programme

Tamenglong, July 26 2019:
A one day training cum input injection programme on "Khasi Mandarin Production and Kharif Field Crops" under the North Eastern Council funded project, was organized by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Tamenglong (Noney), ICAR Research Complex, Manipur Centre at Thanagong village, Khoupum Friday.
A total of 40 farmers from Thanagong village, Khoupum attended the training programme, said a statement of KVK Tamenglong.
During the training programme, experts from KVK Tamenglong gave lectures on different aspects.
Gaipuichung Kamei, SMS (Agronomy) highlighted on the scientific cultivation of kharif crops, Dr RK Roshan, SMS (Horticulture) delivered lectured on scientific cultivation of Khasi Mandarin orange & tree beans, Dr Kolom Rabi, SMS (Plant Breeding) spoke on quality seeds and planting materials production technology, Sunanda Huidrom, SMS (Plant Protection) trained the farmers on management of pests & diseases of Khasi Mandarin.
Dr I Bhupenchandra, SMS (Soil Sc) spoke on soil fertility and nutrient management practices & Dr Soibam Sinyorita, SMS (Animal Sc) talked about common diseases of pig & their control measures.
As the part of the programme, a field visit at citrus orchard was also organised, said the KVK.
2000 numbers of budded Khasi Mandarin saplings, 500 tree bean saplings and 200 Kg of soybean seeds were also distributed during the programme, said the KVK Tamenglong.
