Jojo Robertson launches second phase of tree plantation campaign at Ashang Khullen

Imphal, April 26 2026:
Environmental activist Jojo Robertson, a native of Kasom Khullen village under Kamjong district, has commenced the second phase of his tree plantation campaign, aiming to plant around 2,000 saplings across the subdivision, with activities currently underway at Ashang Khullen.
The initiative, titled "Comprehensive Environmental Awareness Campaign", will be continue till June.
The launching programme was attended by Chithung Tunjot, secretary of Ashang Khullen village, along with local villagers.
Speaking on the occasion, Jojo Robertson emphasised that planting trees and preserving forests are crucial to addressing rising global temperatures and changing weather patterns.
He highlighted urgent need for collective action to protect the environment.
He further stated that, as part of the campaign, around 2,000 tree saplings will be planted across Kasom Khullen sub-division.
In addition, saplings will be distributed to selected villages, with plans to extend the initiative to certain parts of the Imphal valley.
Robertson noted that the campaign began on April 15 at Tarong village.
He also expressed gratitude to the headman of Ashang Khullen and the villagers for their support and cooperation in carrying forward the initiative.
