More weapons surrendered, KCP duo arrested

Imphal, February 26 2025:
After the Governor's appeal to deposit illegal arms at the nearest police station within seven days and assured amnesty, more arms, ammunition and other combat items continue to be surrender at police stations across the state.
Surrender of arms, ammunition and others before top officials of Imphal West district police on Wednesday include two carbines with magazines, one 9mm pistol with magazine, two double barrel guns, three single barrel guns, 33 rounds of AK rifle, four rounds of 9mm pistol, 33 hand grenades, 19 helmets, 19 BP plates, three SLRs with magazines, 27 wireless sets, 17 wireless chargers, three stun hand grenades, six smoke grenades, one tear smoke LR, one dye marker grenade, one tear gas grenade, one lethod gun, two lethod rounds, one mortar launcher (local made), 10 rounds of .32, 24 rounds of .303 and many other combat materials and items.

Many weapons, ammunition and other combat items used earlier by village volunteers of Thanga assembly constituency of Bishnupur district were also surrendered before Moirang SDPO, DSP (CDO) and OC Keibul Lamjao PS.
The surrendered weapons include one double barrel gun, 24 rounds of .303, 12 rounds of 7.62mm, 11 rounds of 5.56mm, 25 casings of 7.62mm, 11 of .303, 11 of 7.62 mm, three tear stun grenades, three BP plates, one shell of 51mm mortar, three helmets, five walkie talkie with charger, one BP jacket and one INSAS magazine.
Weapons, ammunition and other combat items used earlier by village volunteers of Phubala were also surrendered to SP Bishnupur through Phubala Peace Committee on Wednesday.
The surrendered weapons include one sniper rifle with magazine, one 12 bore pump action gun, one .32mm local made pistol, three rounds of .32mm, 10 tear smoke shells, three HE grenades and other combat materials and items.
In the same district, one single barrel gun and many ammunition earlier used by village volunteers were surrendered at Loktak police station on Wednesday.
On the other hand, Meira Paibi and village volunteers of Pukhao Naharup and nearby villages in Imphal East district surrendered weapons, ammunition and other items at the Assam Rifles' Sagolmang camp on Wednesday.
The surrendered weapons include one 9mm CMG gun, one .303 rifle, one 12 bore single barrel gun, one country made single barrel gun, 37 rounds of different calibres, five tube launchers, one CMG magazine, one INSAS magazine, three BP helmets, 10 BP jackets, three Baofeng wireless sets, one Kenwood radio set, three radio sets, five IA tube launchers, one 36 hand grenade, six smoke grenades, one tear gas smoke shell and others.
All the surrendered weapons, ammunition and items were handed over to Sagolmang police station by Assam Rifles.
Many weapons, ammunition and other items were also surrendered at Porompat police station in Imphal East district on Wednesday.
The surrendered weapons include one SMG c carbine, one tear gas gun, three pistols, two stun grenades, four 36 HE grenades, one smoke shell and three tear gas shells.
Weapons surrendered in Kakching district on Wednesday evening include one SLR rifle, seven 303 rifles, one carbine, 18 single barrel guns, six double barrel guns, one air gun, and one country made pistol.

Bombs, ammunition and other items surrendered include 13 HE grenades, 13 carbine magazines, one LMG magazine, one Ak-47 magazine, six INSAS magazines, six .303 magazines, two SLR magazines, 23 Baofeng hand-sets with two chargers, 10 pairs of boots, 85 BP vests, 24 BP plates, 57 helmets, five 9mm ammunition, 31 rounds of 7.62mm calibre, 68 rounds of .303, 25 rounds of 5.56mm, 38 rounds of AK, one binocular and other items.
On the other hand, arms and ammunition surrendered at New Keithelmanbi police station in Kangpokpi district on Wednesday include one AK 47 rifle with two magazines, one .303 rifle, one Smith and Wesson revolver, one .22 pistol with magazine, one single barrel gun, three improvised mortars, two country made pull mechanism rifles, even mortar shells, 50 live ammunition of 7.62mm and 20 blank rounds of same calibre, one Motorola wireless set, one 36 hand grenade, 21 rubber bullets, two bullet proof plates and two tube launchers.
Meanwhile, many weapons were surrendered to Imphal West district police and Assam Rifles on Wednesday.
The surrendered weapons include 12 CMG with magazines, two .303 rifles with magazines, two SLR with magazines, four 12 bore single barrel guns, one IED, 32 rounds of .303, 33 rounds of SLR, five cartridges of single barrel gun, five helmets and five BP jackets without plates.
On the other-hand, security forces apprehended two cadres of the armed KCP (PWG) on Tuesday.
According to a press note released by the Manipur Police Control Room, security forces arrested the two active cadres of banned KCP (PWG), identified as Oinam Chandrakumar Singh alias Meijao alias Mangang (54) and Pukhrambam Bisheshwor Singh (38), from Ningthoukhong Ward No.4 on Tuesday.
The team recovered one SBBL, one Airgun, one .32 mm Pistol with magazine, three rounds of .32mm, four 12 Bore Cartridges, four mobile phones, one wallet, one Aadhaar card, one voter card and one ID card.
Both the arrested persons and the seized items have been handed over to Bishnupur P'S for further legal action.
Security forces also recovered one 10-ft long pompi, one pompi (suspected to be 51mm improvised Mortar), three pompi bombs and IEDs weighing 5.5kg with detonator during a search operation conducted in H Monjang village area under Moreh PS in Tengnoupal district, The IEDs were later detonated at a safe location.
On the other hand, Thoubal district commando recovered two abandoned vehicles, suspected to have been stolen, during patrolling duty in Lilong area along NH-102 on Wednesday afternoon.
As per a police report, the team found the vehicles, a white colour i20 (WB06H 4223) and one golden silver Maruti Alto Lxi (MN03A 16677), abandoned near Lilong Kalikhong Oil Pump around 1.30 pm Wednesday.
The vehicles, suspected to have been stolen, were handed over to Lilong PS for further course of legal action.
