Imphal, June 25 2009: State food and consumer affairs, co-operation and commerce and industries, Y Erabot today created a controversy over the opening of Air Hostess Academy at Raja Dumber High School complex stating that a Super Market should be installed in the complex.

Speaking as chief guest at the opening function of the Wangkhei branch of the Urban Co-operative Bank today, the minister said instead of setting up the Air Hostess Academy in the area presently occupied by the Raja Dumber High School at Palace compound, a Super Market complex should be developed here.

Talking on the important of banking, he said in the development process, bank has big role to take part.

For improving financial status of man, he needs to keep a good relationship with the bank, Erabot added.

Imphal Urban Co-operative bank has become one of the developed bank.

With the opening of the Wangkhei branch of the bank, employees of government offices located in Imphal east and west district could opened their accounts in this bank for drawing their monthly salaries, he said.

Speaking on the existing public distribution system in the state, Erobot further said that he will try his best to improve the PDS and ensure reaching the PDS items to the people directly.

Any form of adulteration in the PDS item will not allowed, he said adding that appropriate action will be taken up to those people who indulge in adulteration.

He also expressed concern over the disturbances given in taking up various people welfare activities by underground elements.

Insurgents in the state are trying to snatch the stomach of the people of the state.

People have now loss believed to them on bringing development and performing their activities which will benefits the people, he added.
