MLA Nemcha inaugurates S Jalenmoul village

The local MLA of Kangpokpi AC, Nemcha Kipgen formally inaugurated S Jalenmoul village under Kangpokpi Sub Division in Sadar Hills Kangpokpi district today after publication of the village recognition in official Gazette on March 10, 2008.The inaugural ceremony of the village was attended by MLA Nemcha Kipgen as chief guest while Rev Dr Vumthang Sitlhou, President Thadou Baptist Association India and Seikhosat Kipgen, Chief of T Lhanghoi attended as Minister and Functional President respectively.
A monolith erected as a mark of the village inauguration was unveiled by MLA Nemcha Kipgen in the presence of other dignitaries while it was dedicated by Rev Dr Vumthang Sitlhou.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Nemcha Kipgen said that God blessed the people of the State with plenty of beautiful lands that even european countries and others wish to visit frequently, but we are yet to realise its essence and beauty as we continue to destroy our environment.
She continued that it is high time we realise the importance of our land and stop the practice of cultivating illegal plants and skip to more encouraging cultivation while adding that the resource we gain by such illegal cultivation might be very tempting but it will destroy our land and our future especially the children.
MLA Nemcha Kipgen urged each and everyone not to indulge in illegal profession for livelihood rather live their life according to the will of God and encouraged them to protect and preserve the land in such a way that 'S Jalenmoul' would become an ambassador of healthy lifestyle for all the villages in the constituency, district and the state as well.
The local MLA also exhorted the people and all the village chiefs to take sincere and dedicated 'self pledge' to protect the blessed and beautiful land not only by stopping the practice of illegal cultivation but also according to various laws and acts enshrined to the tribal communities.
Rev Dr Vumthang Sitlhou said that wealth, wisdom, fame and popularity will vanish with time and of all these things, living life according to the will of God is the most important factor for us to live peacefully on this planet.
He prayed for the wellbe-ing and development of the village while seeking God's blessings and dedicating the offering made by the village authority.
S Jalenmoul village has been recognised under Gazette No 484 after fulfilling the conditions laid down under Section 3 of the Manipur (Village Authorities in Hill Areas) Act,
1956 .
The village chief is Tonglal Kipgen S/o L Singjadou Kipgen.
Prominent Gospel artistes such as Wycliff Lunneo Kipgen, Neicy Haokip, Chongpi Kipgen enthralled the crowd with their melodious voice during the occasion.
Apart from various CSOs in th district, Kuki Chief Council and village chiefs of the area also attended the inaugural ceremony.
