TYCM slams Govt over vacantposts

Imphal, June 24 2026: The Tribal Youth Council Manipur has criticised the State Government for neglecting recruitment in key tribal institutions despite ongoing hiring in other departments.

In a release, TYCM said 100 of 138 posts remain vacant in the Directorate of Tribal Affairs & Hills, 20 of 33 in the Tribal Research Institute, and 68 of 108 in the Manipur Tribal Development Corporation.

The shortage has delayed tribal welfare programmes.

The council noted it has repeatedly urged the Government to fill the posts, even before President's Rule, but no action has been taken.

A fresh appeal was submitted to the Chief Minister on June 23.TYCM warned that continued neglect contradicts the Government's "equal development" pledge and risks public agitation amid the State's volatile situation.
