Lai Haraoba held at Shillong's Manipur Bhavan

Imphal, February 24 2026: The Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board and Shillong Ibudhou Pakhangba Thoujal Lup, jointly organised Lai Haraoba ritual at Manipur Bhavan, Laitumkhrah, Shillong on Monday.

The religious festival, which had been halted for some years due to the unrest in Manipur since May 3, 2023, was revived with traditional ritual customary rites.

The rituals of Lai Haraoba were led by Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board, Amaiba Sanglakpa Salam Mani; Umanglai Loishang, Sanglakpi Elangbam Esheihanbi and Pena Ngamthang Sanglakpa Oinam Sanaton.

The ceremony was conducted with due reverence, invoking blessings and marking the cultural and spiritual significance of the occasion.
