AR conducts pre-medical check-up for Agniveer aspirants in Kakching

Kakching, August 23 2026: The Assam Rifles organised a pre-medical check-up for prospective Agniveer candidates at Waikhong Village Football Ground in Kakching district on Sunday, with around 135 local youths from Waikhong and adjoining areas participating.

According to a release issued by IGAR (South), the outreach programme was aimed at guiding and supporting local youth aspiring to join the Indian Armed Forces.

Qualified medical personnel conducted preliminary medical screenings and briefed the aspirants on the medical standards and recruitment criteria prescribed for the Armed Forces.

The candidates were also advised on maintaining physical fitness, personal health and medical readiness ahead of recruitment rallies.

The preliminary assessment enabled the aspirants to identify potential health issues and take corrective measures well in advance of the formal recruitment process.

The initiative also encouraged eligible youths to prepare diligently and pursue career opportunities in the Armed Forces with discipline and commitment.

IGAR (South) said the programme reflected its continued efforts towards youth empowerment, strengthening community engagement and encouraging the youth of Manipur to contribute to the service of the nation.
