Workshop on 'Peace Architect Fellows' begins

A five-day workshop on "Peace Architect Fellows" commenced on Tuesday at Maram Union Building, Old Monday Market, here.
The workshop is a transformative initiative aimed at fostering peace and reconciliation in the conflict-affected state of Manipur.
Organised by AMYAA NGO, based in Senapati, in partnership with Grassroot NGO from Shillong, the capacity-building programme will focus on empowering the young leaders with essential skills for conflict resolution, leadership, advocacy, and community-driven change.
The workshop is supported by Rohini Nilekani Philanthropies, which provides platform for youth from diverse ethnic backgrounds to engage in vital discussions on topics such as gender equality, 371C in the context of the Indian Constitution, democracy, indigenous rights, and leadership development, all critical in promoting peace and self-determination in the region.
With 15 participants from various ethnic communities of Manipur, the programme emphasises unity and collaborative action.
Beyond training, it empowers participants to shape their communities' futures by encouraging active engagement and leadership.
On the first day, the resource person spoke about learning something new, to bring peace in diverse communities, peace building, leadership responsibility, learning about the present context, resolution to conflict zone, champion of peace building, indigenous rights and others.
At the conclusion of the five-day workshop, all participating youths will prepare and present their own advocacy plans.
The five best plans will be selected, and those individuals will have the opportunity to undertake a four-month internship with AMYAA NGO in Manipur.
The selected participants will receive continuous mentorship throughout the internship as they work on implementing their advocacy plans, contributing to peace-building efforts in their communities, according to the organisers.
