AMUFFA organises training programme for fish farmers

Imphal, May 22 2025:
The All Manipur United Fish Farmers Association (AMUFFA) on Wednesday inaugurated a 10-day training programme for fish farmers of Laphupat Tera, Imphal West district.
The training programme was conducted in collaboration with the Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI), Kakching of Punjab National Bank.
The inaugural function was graced by AMUCO vice president Dr Norendro Thokchom, assistant organisation Th Shantikumar, AMUFFA president M Bimolchand, AMUFFA Imphal West Branch secretary Salam Komol and Ksh Madhopchandra from Punjab National Bank as presidium members.
At the event, the dignitaries shed light on Manipur's vast potential in the fisheries sector and the need to bridge the gap between demand and supply through use of modern technology, integrated farming and innovation.
They also urged all the stakeholders to work diligently towards transforming Manipur into a fish surplus State, capable of producing more than State's requirement of 52 metric tonnes/year.
