National Integration Camp ongoing on

Imphal, January 22 2014 :
"Let us forget the past.
Let us make a new India, a better India.
It is we the people of India who will write a new history of India" .
This was stated by Prof..M.CArun of Manipur University during the second day of the National Integration Camp being organised by NYK Imphal West at the Kangshang Hall of Khuman Lampak here yesterday.
In all, 250 youths coming from Haryana, Bihar, Tripura, Assam, Nagaland and Manipur are participating in the national level youth camp which began on January 20 .
Nonibala, Social Activist, who was invited to facilitate discussion on the problem of violence against women and gender issues in the camp, observed, "Sex is biological and it is universal.
It is static and having the same structure.
But gender is culture biased.
There are many cases of sexual assault against women and child in Manipur and the rate is found to be very high in Assam.
Inheritance of property to women is not there in many states.
The most important and interesting session of the day was held with Prof.Rajiv Kumar, Principal, IRE on the topic "Understanding threats and challenges posed by divisive forces".
It was thrilling and fully participatory with the youths.
Y.Laksman Singh, District Youth Coordinator Imphal West and Paulina Monsang of Ukhrul took up the session on 'Feel India Presentation for Nagaland and Manipur' .
Earlier, in the morning, W.Ibohal Singh of Chandel took up the Yoga and PT and it was followed by mass cleaning of the campus.
The academic session started with a prayer initiated by the team from Nagaland.
Cultural Programme was held in the evening in which the youth delegates presented their traditional folk dance and songs.
The National Integration Camp will continue till 24th of January.
