NPIP mourns passing of Niketu Iralu

Imphal, August 20 2026: The Naga Peoples' Initiative for Peace (NPIP) has condoled the demise of veteran peace activist and former Initiative of Change member Niketu Iralu, who passed away in Delhi on August 18, 2026 .

In a condolence message, the NPIP remembered Iralu for his lifelong commitment to peace, reconciliation, non-violence and human dignity.

It said his wisdom, courage and unwavering dedication to peace and reconciliation had made a lasting contribution to the Naga people as well as the wider peace community.

The NPIP stated that Iralu's life and work would remain an enduring source of inspiration to those who knew him and to generations to come.

Describing his passing as a profound loss to the Naga people and all those committed to peace and reconciliation, the NPIP conveyed its solidarity, sympathy and prayers to the bereaved family during the time of grief.
