Imphal, April 19 2026:
Two community groups held candlelight vigils in Imphal on Sunday evening to mourn the victims of the Tronglaobi incidents, in which two children and three civilians died amid allegations of CRPF firing.
Sagolband Apunba Lup organised its vigil at the Sagolband Moirang Leirak median.
Community members lit candles, offered prayers, and observed a minute's silence for the departed souls.
Organisers said the vigil symbolised collective grief and solidarity, and reaffirmed the community's commitment to peace, justice, and protection of innocent lives.
The WAL Club of Wangkhei also held a candlelighting ceremony in the evening.
Participants lit candles in tribute to the bereaved families and mourned the loss.
Both events underscored a shared resolve against violence and a call to uphold humanity.
