Discourse on Kabui Language held; committee formed

Imphal, March 19 2023: Kabui Union, Manipur (KUM) organised a discourse on Kabui language at Keishamthong Kabui community hall, here, on Sunday, during which it formed a 14-member Kabui Language Committee with the objective of promoting Kabui Language and develop its basic language structure for coming generations to read, write and learn the language.

In a release, KUM joint secretary Athoi Kamei informed that representatives from different Kabui villages of Manipur attended the meeting and unanimously resolved to constitute a Kabui Language Society under KUM for preserving the Kabui Language.

The newly nominated members of Kabui Language Committee have been tasked to form the working structure of the Committee and elect their own designated persons and submit their names to the KUM president.

It was also decided to hold the next meeting within 30 days, it added.
