Imphal, April 18 2026:
A candlelight vigil was organized by the Tezpur University Manipur Fraternity on April 16 to mourn the tragic and brutal killing of two innocent children, Oinam Tomthin and Oinam Yaisanaat Tronglaobi in Moirang, Bishnupur.
According to a statement, the gathering brought together students and members of the fraternity in a solemn show of grief, solidarity, and collective outrage against the inhuman act.
Participants lit candles, observed silence, and expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family, while also strongly condemning the perpetrators of the crime.
During the program, the Fraternity demanded swift and time-bound justice from the Government of Manipur, emphasizing that such heinous acts must not go unpunished.
They also raised serious concern over the killing of three innocent civilian protesters allegedly by the CRPF, calling for accountability and transparency.
A firm demand was made for a judicial inquiry into both incidents within a clearly defined timeframe to ensure justice and restore public trust.
