Imphal, June 17 2026: A one-day Free Comprehensive Eye Screening Camp was held at Kachikhul Mayai Leikai Community Hall, Imphal West, on June 16 .

The camp was jointly organised by Shija Eye Care Foundation (SECF), the National Programme for Control of Blindness and Visual Impairment (NPCB&VI), Manipur Chapter, and Kachikhul Youth Football Association (KYFA) .

A medical team from SECF led by Consultant Ophthalmologist Dr Priyalaxmi Chakpram conducted detailed examinations of 150 individuals.

Screening detected cataracts in 16 persons, pterygium in 6, and refractive errors in 98.Seven individuals requiring further evaluation and specialised treatment were referred to the base hospital for advanced management.
