District Administration IE observes Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas

Imphal, November 15 2025: The District Administration, Imphal East, successfully organised the celebration of Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas today at Keikhu Kabui Khul, highlighting the rich cultural heritage, identity, and contributions of tribal communities to the Nation.

As per release issued by Deputy Commissioner Imphal East, the event was held in commemoration of the birth anniversary of the iconic tribal freedom fighter Bhagwan Birsa Munda, whose courageous struggle and sacrifice continue to inspire generations across India.

The programme was attended by Dr Nivedita Lairenlakpam, DC.

Imphal East as chief guest, along with Karam Uma Devi, BDO, Kshetrigao CD Block, community leaders, village elders, SHG members, youth representatives, and local residents.

At the event, Dr Nivedita emphasized the importance of Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas in honoring tribal valour and preserving indigenous cultures.

She also presented blankets to the elders of the village in recognition of their valuable contribution to the community.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Patrick Golmei, ex-Pradhan, Naharup Gram Panchayat.
