Imphal, March 15 2013 :
The proscribed UG group, Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) claimed that the bomb attack on 9 Assam Rifles near Kondong Lairembi, Moreh this morning was carried out by its armed wing, People's Liberation Army (PLA) .
In a statement issued by its Chief of Department of Publicity Bangkim, RPF stated that the bomb attack on a patrol party of 9 AR was carried out by a Special Warfare Group of PLA and the attacked took the lives of five AR personnel while leaving some others injured.
The dead bodies of the Assam Rifles personnel were whisked away in two helicopters before they were seen by civilians.
RPF said that the attack was carried out as a strategic plan to demotivate and the colonial policies of Indian security forces under IGAR (S) in Manipur.
In most cases, Indian Security Forces hide the actual casualties in such attacks and even claimed that no such attacks were occurred.
Interestingly, Defence Minister Antony told in Parliament on March 12 this year that 337 army personnel were killed from 2010 to 2012 in North East and Jammu and Kashmir while only two this year.
But from studying the report and the current situation in NE and Jammu and Kashmir, one can easily find out that most of the army personnel killed since 2010 are in Manipur as the situation in Kashmir has cool down a bit and UG organisations in other states of North East region rarely attack them, the statement added.
Every single attack of PLA over the Indian armies has been successful so far and the trust and cooperation of the people are the main reason behind the success of RPF and its armed wing PLA, the RPF statement said.
It also expressed gratitude to the cadres of PLA and people of Manipur who cooperate with the outfit and appealed to the people for continued support to the ongoing freedom struggle.
