Imphal, September 14 2026:
The Federal Students' Organisation, Kangleipak (FESOK) has warned against production of films and web series that portray the sacred teacher-student relationship in a distorted and immoral light.
In a statement, FESOK said that in the last few years in Manipur, some filmmakers and web series makers, in an attempt to gain popularity, have been producing contents that depict the beautiful bond between teacher and student as an illicit affair, which is unfortunate.
While acknowledging that film is the mirror of society, FESOK said it is giving serious attention to the matter to prevent wrong impressions on the tender minds of young and budding students.
FESOK appealed to all concerned to immediately stop producing films and web series that give the wrong message to students.
Instead, it urged makers to produce contents that provide knowledge and inspiration to students, youth and the public.
FESOK also urged Film Forum Manipur and the concerned Government authorities to take strong note of the matter.
It warned that if filmmakers do not stop, FESOK will initiate steps to ban such films and web series that degrade the morals of teachers and students.
