The Indian Army undertook a community outreach initiative in Champu Khangpok village, the unique floating village situated on Loktak Lake in Bishnupur district under Operation Sadbhavana.
As part of the initiative, school essentials were distributed to support students and encourage education among children in the remote village.
A medical camp was also organised to facilitate access to basic healthcare services and address the healthcare needs of the local community, said a press note by the Indian Army.
The Indian Army also installed smart solar street lights in the village to improve illumination, enhance convenience for residents and contribute towards a safer environment.
These initiatives reflect the Indian Army's continued commitment to reaching remote and underserved communities through meaningful interventions in education, healthcare and infrastructure development.
Through Operation Sadbhavana, the Indian Army remains steadfast in its endeavour to foster goodwill, strengthen bonds with local communities and contribute to lasting peace and prosperity in the region.
