Entrepreneurship awareness programme held

Imphal, August 13 2024:
Under the aegis of Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) & Incubation Centre(IC), Department of Vocational Studies & Skill Development (DVSSD), Manipur University, a one-day entrepreneurship awareness programme was held at Biramangol College relief camp, Sawombung on Tuesday.
A release issued by MU EDC head Dr N Amulkumar informed that the programme was conducted as a special initiative to motivate, encourage and register prospective' youth (18-40 years) among the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of Imphal East having unique and innovative business ideas for participation in the upcoming "Youngpreneur Challenge" slated for August 16, 20 and 30.He stated that around 70 participants from the IDP community actively participated in the event and registered for the Youngreneur Challenge.
A similar awareness programme was also held at Standard College, Kongba on Monday and at Modern College, Porompat on August 10 as to motivate and attract talented students having unique & innovative business ideas to apply for the "Youngpreneur Challenge" .
The selected youth having feasible business ideas will be allowed to join the Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) free of cost, said Dr Amulkumar, while assuring that minimum of 10 budding entrepreneurs having best business ideas will be incubated for a year at Manipur University and provide grant of Rs 5 lakh as seed money to start their ventures.
