Thoubal, January 13 2026: With the arrival of the New Year and with the objective of bringing peace of mind and warmth to senior citizens, a special programme titled "Ahalsingi Ningthamphi Khudol Tamba Thouram-2026" was held on Tuesday at the Club Hall of Thabaton Social Welfare Club, Khangabok Pt-III, Lamlong Makha Leikai.

During the programme, blankets were distributed to senior citizens of the locality as a gesture of care and support.

The initiative was jointly organised by the Rising Union Club, Popular Youth Club and Thabaton Social Welfare Club, in collaboration with Chaokhat Khongthang and Anouba Mangal Village Level Federation, Khangabok Pt-II, under the sponsorship of Share & Care, Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri Mapal, Imphal.

The programme was attended by founder of Share and Care Imphal, Professor RK Lenin Singh; chairperson of Khangabok Pt-II GP, M Mahen Singh; former Addl Director, Dept of Health Services, Dr P Binata Devi; United Development Association co-founder L Kanhai Singh; and principal of KM Blooming Hr Sec School, Khangabok, Dr Kh Romenkumar Mangang, among others, who served as presidium members.

As part of the event, 50 elderly persons of the locality aged above 80 years were presented with blankets.

They were also presented calendars published by the AVBD Thoubal District Branch, marking the occasion with warmth and respect for the senior members of the community.
