Imphal, August 12 2025: The Tribal Youth Council, Manipur (TYCM), General Headquarters, Tarung Youth Club, in collaboration with the Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) and the District Legal Services Authority, Imphal West, observed International Youth Day 2025-cum-Legal Awareness Programme today at Tarung Community Hall under the theme "Youth Empowerment for a Sustainable Future" .

As per a press release, the programme was graced by Dr Benjamin A Shimray, Associate Professor & Head of the Electrical Engineering Department, NIT Manipur; Janghingam Gonmei, Officer-in-Charge/District In-charge, Fire Service, Senapati District, Manipur; and Wungreiyo Ningshen, social worker as special guests.

They spoke on the International Youth Day theme and addressed the grievances and challenges faced by the tribal communities of Manipur.

The legal awareness session was conducted by Leishangthem Jeebit Singh (MPS), DSP (Cybercrime, Manipur), who sensitized the participants on the prevention of cybercrime.

Leaders of tribal CSOs, intellectuals, social workers, and youths from various tribal communities in Manipur participated in the programme.
