Workshop on eco-tourism held at Tamenglong

Tamenglong, April 12 2025: Tamenglong Forest Division, under the active guidance of Anurag Bajpai PCCF & HoFF, organised a consultative workshop cum awareness programme on eco-tourism at Keikao (Namkaolong), particularly the Arai Bat Cave and adjacent natural swimming pool.

Hitler Singh DFO, Tamenglong, Joel Gangmei, RFO, Tamenglong and A Promeshwor Singh RFO, Tousem attended the programme along with around forty members of village authorities.

The Forest Department will facilitate the community to develop eco-tourism facilities around the Arai Bat Cave and adjacent natural swimming pool.

The team visited the Khoupanglang Cave, a very promising eco-tourism site situated near the DC, Tamenglong office guided by RK Lungsangai.

Another workshop cum an introduction to Carbon Financing Projects was held at Azuram village in presence of Meitholin Riamei, chairman Azuram village.

Azuram village has a community reserve of 5.81 sqkm.

TERI (The Energy and Resources Institute) and Forest Department will be implementing the new projects.
